Meet Our Staff
One of the advantages we have over most of our competitors is our team.
You’ll notice as you read the following comments about our inspectors that they have varying backgrounds and interests. They do, however, have a couple of common traits that make them great inspectors. They enjoy what they do and they are always looking for better ways to do it.
Henry Khuu, P.Eng
Because of his academic strength, experience and interpersonal skills, Henry has become our inspections manager. He is a graduate of the University of Calgary with a degree in mechanical engineering and is a Professional Engineer. Henry has years of experience in the home inspection industry. Henry and James Dobney helped develop, and were the first instructors for Douglas College’s Home Inspection Program. Henry spends much of his time with our commercial inspections division, specializing in Property Condition Assessments and Strata Property Depreciation Reports. He has taken a leadership role in both our residential and commercial divisions. Henry is an avid sports fan. When he’s not driving his kids to hockey or soccer games you’ll find him somewhere on the golf course (not always in the fairway).
Sheldon is the third generation in a family involved the building trade. Sheldon started working summer holidays as a teen on both single and multi family housing and stayed in the industry for 15 years, learning many tips and tricks from other trades on site. Home inspection seemed the ideal way to share his knowledge and help people understand the inner workings of their home. Sheldon completed the Douglas College\Carson Dunlop Home Inspection program and has continued updating and improving his skills and knowledge through HIABC. He does his very best to answer all your questions in jargon free, in plain language. Sheldon’s satisfaction is derived from helping you make a well-informed home buying decision.
Geoff Baile, B.A., LEED A.P.
Geoff joined our company in 2005 and has explained to thousands of home buyers just what they are getting. Geoff’s communication skills are so well developed from explaining the intricacies of homes to buyers, that he also teaches aspiring inspectors at Douglas College’s Home Inspection Program. In addition, he gives educational presentations to realtors to help them understand how houses work. He has a passion for Healthy Homes and has completed the CMHC Residential Indoor Air Quality Investigators Course. Geoff’s downtime includes sailing, giving presentations to boating organizations and occasionally running the dikes of Steveston.
Al knows that for many people, buying a home can be a challenging experience. He’s dedicated to providing his clients with a detailed and meaningful report in a manner that is as relaxed and stress-free as possible, and he can communicate in either of Canada’s official languages. With many years of experience in the HVAC industry, general trades and renovations, Al is able to view all the systems of the home in an integrated way. He is passionate about learning and is committed to keeping up with technological changes in the industry.
A graduate of the University of British Columbia’s Industrial Education program, Jon went on to become a Certified Kitchen and Bathroom Designer and has spent 25 years remodelling homes throughout the lower mainland and the Gulf Islands. His understanding of how to take homes apart and put them back together has been invaluable to his home inspection career. When time allows, Jon creates beautiful stained glass panels and has written and published two “How-to” books about stained glass.
Extensive experience as a construction supervisor, mechanical/electrical company manager, and plant maintenance supervisor helped prepare Bob for a career as a home inspector. He was recruited several years ago from the Home Inspection Program at Douglas College by one of our inspector/instructors and has worked for us ever since. Bob’s clients are always impressed by his thoroughness and breadth of knowledge. He relaxes by building furniture. We haven’t had the chance to test it.
